Light you carry, and share
Misbaah is a spiritual refuge rooted in the Prophetic light, presented by Eden Gardens here in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

“The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp; the lamp is within glass.”
“Misbaah” is Arabic for lantern, the same word used in the Qur’an’s Verse of Light. A lantern doesn’t make its own light. It carries it, protects it from the wind, and lets it reach everyone nearby.
That’s what we hope for our young people: to carry the light of faith with confidence, to keep it steady in a world that pulls them in every direction, and to share it through good character with the people around them.
Every Misbaah program, whether a storytime, a fiqh class, a basketball tournament or a night under the stars, is a small way of tending that light.
What it is
A shared home for faith-based learning, life skills, sports, the arts and outdoor adventures, at Eden Gardens in Pennsauken. Separate programming for boys and girls where it matters.
Why we started it
Our kids are growing up in a world that pulls them in every direction. Misbaah gives them a place close to home to be unapologetically Muslim, build real skills, and find mentors and friends who lift them up.
Who it’s for
Programs for every stage, from little ones to young adults, plus community celebrations like the Fall Festival and Winter Bonfire that are open to all of South Jersey.

Every program tends one of three gardens.

What guides every program
Faith at the center
Everything we do is rooted in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, taught with warmth and without judgment.
Character first
Skills matter, but good manners, honesty, and service matter more. We grow both.
Everyone belongs
Every child should have friends who lift them up and mentors who know their name.
Safe and age-appropriate
Supervised programs designed for each age, with separate programming for boys and girls where it matters.
Excellence (ihsan)
We put care into the details, from the lesson plans to the snacks.
Giving back
Our youth learn to serve Pennsauken and the wider South Jersey community.
